Noxious Weeds Program

Black Knapweed

The TNRD has a program regarding noxious weeds on your property. It is free to the home owner.

Representatives will be in Lac Le Jeune on Thursday, August 4, at 10:00am to discuss the program, do a walkabout in the area, answer questions, and provide printed material. If you are interested in participating in this education session please email Corinne Schock (corinneschock@gmail.com).

We will also present a summary of the program and provide printed materials at the Lac Le Jeune Conservation Association Annual General Meeting on August 14, 2016.

A Chance for the Best Possible Outcome thanks to Three Mikes

Submitted by Jacquie Brugger

Many thanks to Mike Ritcey of Search and Rescue, and Mike Anfield of Crazy about Loons Photo Tours. Another call to Conservation about a loon with a red fishing bobber around its neck resulted with these two volunteers coming here to see what they could do. The loon had taken up a spot on a grassy area by the lake on Water Street. With help from resident Mike Brugger, the loon was a successfully captured. It was decided that the loon had possibly swallowed the hook and would be taken to the Wildlife Park for care.

Rest Stop at HWY 5 Exit 336

Does anybody know the answer to this visitor's question? Who should be contacted about this issue?

Hello! My family just used some new looking outhouses along highway 5 and Lac Le Jeune/ Logan lake. My 4 year old was playing behind the outhouse and noticed a metal trap door and tried to open it. Imagine my thankfulness when I caught him doing it since it's an access to the poop pit! There is a spot for a lock on it but neither have locks on them. I'm not sure who to contact about this so thought I'd try the park....can you forward this to whoever maintains these outhouses?
