FELIX FOUND IN KNUTSFORD AREA. YAY!

Felix, a husky type dog, went missing Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was last spotted on Park Drive East on Sunday, appeared frightened, and would not get close to people. He is wearing a collar with tags.

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS!! BUDDY IS HOME

Are you missing your German Shepherd?

UPDATE: This is Riply! She is safe and sound at home with her caretaker. 

A German Shepherd arrived at Paul Jorgensen's house this afternoon and never left. The dog has a collar, including a shocking device, but no identification.

This dog was found wandering around Marmot Rd in Lac Le Jeune late afternoon today. He has a collar but no identification. James Medford has been going door to door for the past few hours trying to find some leads. THANK YOU, James!

Have you seen Hardy?

UPDATE: HARDY HAS BEEN FOUND. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Charlene Hanuse is doggy sitting a 1 year old black lab named Hardy.  He got out and bolted around 5:30pm today (February 15).

If you spot him, please all Charlene at 250-572-6245.

He is harmless, but probably a little scared.

Unfortunately, we don't have a photo at this time.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 16: LUKE HAS BEEN SPOTTED IN KNUTSFORD. KEEP LOOKING!

One of the TRU Animal Health Technology program dogs has gotten loose. He is a Husky, black and white and has a collar and leash attached. He is timid but likes other dogs.

 He was last seen February 12th in the Springhill area by Kamloops Bylaw officers at around 1:45pm.

LOST DOG: Have you seen Oakley?

UPDATE: FOUND!!

She was found on a logging road in the area. After nearly 48hrs in -9C nights in 45cm of snow, not a single injury... just hungry!

4 year old German pointer answers to Oakley. Lost at Lac le Jeune provincial campground around 3:25 this afternoon. Her phone number is on her collar with her name. She's very friendly with people and other dogs. Thank you!

Found kitty

UPDATE: The kitty is now back at home on Osprey

A sweet little grey tabby cat has been hanging around Marmot Street. She seems frightened, and like she would prefer to be inside.

Dog found in lake

I just received this information, and will update this post if we receive a description of the dog or further news.

UPDATE: The dog is mid-large and brown. She is recovering nicely, and in very good hands with Dawn.

UPDATE #2:  Happy ending! The dog has been reunited with her family -- Kim and Clay on Marmot.

A dog was found in the middle of the lake today. She was exhausted and hungry. She barely kept her head up as she swam in, and seemed disoriented when she got out.

 The dog is currently with Dawn Killough in Kamloops 250-573-3755

FOUND today (April 23) on Lac Le Jeune Rd just before Goose Lake Rd. M/N, no collar, no tattoo, no microchip, soaking wet with a scratch on his head.

The pictures are a little blurry, but hopefully you can make out if this is your cat or not! S/he's been hanging around the Upton property on Pineridge the last couple of days. Leave a comment below if you know anything about this sweet kitty.

UPDATE: CAT NOW INSIDE, WARM AND BEING PLACED IN FOSTER HOME

A beautiful cat has decided my porch, complete with cozy dog bed, is a great place to spend these very cold winter nights. My dog is not so keen on the idea! He/she has a very dark brown face, dark tail and a longish beige/ brown coat….looks a bit like a Siamese cat colouring. I cannot get close enough to get a photo. If the cat belongs to someone here please consider keeping him/her inside at night in this cold spell. If he/she is a stray is anyone interested in adopting or at least caring or feeding this cat.

URGENT: This cat needs a foster home

This cat that has been hanging around our house off and on for the last week. From Carolyn's description [from this post] it appears to be the same cat. He/she has not left our deck for the last 24 hours after we fed it. It is very hungry, ribs and bones are prominent and the cat does not appear to have a winter coat. It desperately wants to come inside. It is exceptionally affectionate and appears to get along with dogs. We cannot let it in (our dog will not accept it), nor do we think it should stay outside especially since colder temperatures are expected. If someone could come forward to foster it until either its owner is found or someone else can adopt it we would be very appreciative.

Another cat appears to be lost

We are seeing what looks like a lost cat around our house, 3801 Pine Ridge Drive, over the past few days. He does not look like the Siamese on the blog currently. We would describe this cat as a young cat, bigger than a kitten, but we do not think full grown. He/She is a fluffy grey/taupe colour, very pretty, persistently trying to get into the house, into the warmth. If we see the cat this evening, we will put him in the garage, which is heated. We do not want the coyotes to get him.

A cat has been seen around Lac Le Jeune Road (between Lookout and Marmot) for the past week or so. He had been spending a lot of time at the Lindsay/Langdeau residence, and seems very interested in being INSIDE. We don't have a photograph, but it looks very much like this one.

UPDATE - Nov 3:  Still no sign of the owners for this little fella, now nicknamed The Bug. He's now in a foster home while we give it more time. Thanks to everyone who has helped out by sharing information through personal networks, getting the word out through radio, websites, posters, and phone calls, and taking him into your home and yard for sleepovers and play dates. I've learned a lot about the process for dealing with found dogs, and made some great new friends!

Car Accident: Lost Therapy Dog

A small black and white dog ran away after a car accident just south of the Surrey Summit sign on the Coquihalla Highway. The accident occurred yesterday, March 22, at 17:00. The dog is about 27 pounds, looks like a small Border Collie, and answers to the name Whitney. She has a tuxedo chest, a green collar, and a tattoo in her ear: 1945ACJZ.

I just spoke with the owner, who was still searching the area with her daughter.  She will send a photo of the dog as soon as she can get to her computer.

She reported that someone saw Whitney today at 10:30 a.m. but the dog would not come when called. She left Whitney's crate at the accident scene overnight, along with clothing items, and there were tracks around the crate this morning.

Thanks to Kecia Turunen for gathering information earlier today and reporting it via the Kamloops 8100 Radio Station Facebook page.

I drove down Surrey Lake Road this afternoon, which goes under the Coquihalla Highway close to the accident scene. I walked around the Desmond Lake area where I saw tracks. Any help searching the area tomorrow would be appreciated. I'll report any updates here.

UPDATE: Whitney was found! The owner spotted her this morning (Saturday, March 24) on the other side of the highway. Whitney came when called and seems to be in good shape.
