Mobile Library Comes to Lac Le Jeune!

The new Mobile Library came to Lac Le Jeune today!

Tracy Upton passed along this message from Jenny Abramzik, TNRD library head of outreach services:
We're a full service library- we offer patrons wifi and use of tablets, and thousands of books, DVDs, magazines, audiobooks and video games for all ages. Patrons can request items from anywhere in the system and we'll put it on the Mobile Library for them.
We'll be visiting Lac Le Jeune every third Friday from 11:00-noon, starting June 1st.
Please get in touch if you have any further questions: jabramzik@tnrd.ca 250-376-3526

Also, thanks to Coleen Krawchuk, we have a regular inflow of books donated by the TNRD Library system for placement in our Little Free Libraries.

Further information:

Look for the Mobile Library by the community mailboxes from 11:00 - 12:00  June 1, June 22, July 13, August 3, August 24, September 21, and October 12.

Happy reading!

Winter reading

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District Library System recently donated another box of excellent books, including several for young readers. This is a regular occurrence thanks to Coleen Krawchuck who has been coordinating these contributions to our Little Free Library.

Added bonus: you don't need to climb over a snowbank to get yourself a book. The snow shovel, located behind the library, has been put to good use this winter!

Little Free Library Gets a Makeover

It appears as though the Little Free Library was snatched in the night, but don't worry! It's in John Krawchuk's garage undergoing some repairs and upgrades: sturdier latch, glued laminate, new sign, fancy siding, and fresh paint.

Meanwhile, hold on to your books! The library will be ready to fill up again in a week or so.

Thanks John! And a special thanks to Ed Kingsnorth for donating the cedar siding.

Ginger and Sylvia being rather unhelpful. Check out the siding!

Little Free Library

Thanks everyone for keeping our Little Free Library stocked with a variety of good reads! We've seen quite the turn over this winter -- classics, children's books, mysteries, young adult, romance, magazines...

And remember, you can take a book any time. There's no requirement to leave a book, or to return the book you take.

Come set a spell

Our Little Free Library now has a bench! We owe a big thanks to John Krawchuk for making this beautiful place to sit while making decisions about which books and DVDs to carry home.

The Lac Le Jeune Little Free Library is located on Lookout Road. Drop by with books, magazines and DVDs. Take whatever you want! Well, except the bench, of course. :-)

Little Free Library

"Have you ever heard of Little Free Libraries?" I asked one morning on a dog walk, obviously to the right person. John Krawchuk is the carpenter who made it happen. Colleen Krawchuk and I are the painters. Perry Wingenbach and Ed Duffy donated materials. And Gregg Lindros contributed the first book!

Little Free Libraries are popping up all over the world. The idea is simple. Anyone can browse or borrow or keep books, DVDs, or magazines. There’s no recordkeeping, and no obligation to return the books — ever. However, replenishing the stock by donating back is much appreciated!

We have registered the library and expect to receive a "steward package" in the mail soon. After that we will post our library on the map.

The library is located at the end of Lookout Road. The colours are bright, so you can't miss it. Wander on by!
