NEWS RELEASE: Ajax Mine Project - Public Comments Invited
OTTAWAAugust 8, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is conducting a federal environmental assessment of the proposed Ajax Mine Project, located near the City of Kamloops in British Columbia.
The project is subject to both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Act, and is undergoing a cooperative environmental assessment with B.C.'s Environmental Assessment Office (EAO).
The Agency and the EAO invite the public to comment on the joint Federal Comprehensive Study / Provincial Assessment Report for the Ajax Mine Project. The joint Report includes the Agency's and the EAO's conclusions and recommendations regarding the implementation of mitigation measures and whether the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. A French version of the joint Report will be available on the Agency's website. 
The EAO also invites the public to comment on the potential Conditions, Summary Assessment Report, and Certified Project Description proposed for the provincial Environmental Assessment Certificate.
This is the final opportunity for the public to comment on the proposed project. All comments received will be considered public.
