Hello,
I am wondering if anyone would happen to know of anyone maintaining a sheet of ice for ice hockey on LLJ or one of the surrounding lakes or ponds. We are “part-timers” at LLJ and thus are unable to maintain an ice rink but were wondering if we could rent a sheet from anyone who was. We would be interested in renting the ice the weekend of January 21st. Thanks for any information, it is much appreciated.
Regards,
Enzo De Rose

History - First Automobile to Fish Lake (Lac Le Jeune) - 1910
Ford race car, about 1910, cc by-nc-sa |
P. Herod’s new Ford automobile has the record of being the first machine to make the trip from this city to Fish Lake. With Laverne Herod driving, the auto made the run out in an hour and thirty minutes, which is considered exceptionally fast time.

AHT Pet Adoptions - Milly and Edna
CAT LOVERS WANTED!
These 2 black beauties are currently available for adoption here at Thompson Rivers University Animal Health Technology.
Milly and Edna are both playful and love to interact with other cats. Milly is super social with people as well and she likes to be cuddled and explore new surroundings. Edna is a bit on the shy side with people and isn’t a cuddler, however, she does enjoy your company and really comes out of her shell when she is in the company of other cats. They are both very quiet, gentle, non-demanding kitties that are looking for a family to love them.
Please contact us if you are interested in adopting Milly, Edna or any of the other cats that we still have available. Please forward this message to anyone else you know that might be interested.
Check out our website for more information. Adoption fee is $75. All cats are spayed/neutered, tattooed, microchipped, dewormed and fully vaccinated. Give us a call to set up an appointment to meet them at 250-828-5174.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Lake ski loop
The Wynnes have been grooming and track setting a ski loop on the lake. It's approximately 7 kilometres and perfect for both skate and classic skiing.
To help maintain the surface it's best to keep to the opposite side of the classic tracks if you walk or ride your fat bike. And while crossing with a snowmobile or ATV might be unavoidable, please refrain from following the trail.
Happy skiing!
