Logging Truck Crash

By now most residents will have seen the pile of logs on Lac Le Jeune Road near the community mailboxes. If you're wondering what happened here is the article in the Kamloops Daily News

As Bev Lorimer mentioned to reporters, we have witnessed some fast-moving logging trucks in our area. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured in the accident.

Sylvia....thank you for alerting the residents about the logging truck. The reporter got the time line a bit wrong. Ross & I saw the logging truck just after 9am. At that time we did not know there was a car involved. After our walk we stopped by the scene and were told that there was a passeger vehicle involved. Scarey stuff!
The driver of the car called me the next day and thanked me for my comments. Maybe we could see some changes by some letter writing to the local paper, Transportation officials , Commercial Vehicle Inspectors or anyone else you can think of. It would be good to see a sign down by the weigh scales directing the trucks into the weigh station. The logging trucks presently using LLJ Road are coming from the other side of the Coquihalla. The drivers are a decent bunch but there are 1 or 2 that are oblivious to the safety of others on the road.

They are currently in the process of creating an access for trucks to turn off LLJ road into the scale / inspection centre. Apparently, signs are also in the process of being made to go on each end of LLJ road stating all trucks must report to scale.
